A unique spectacle! Friedrich Schiller&#8217;s drama about the freedom hero William Tell has been performed on the magnificent natural stage in the &#8220;Rugenwald zu Matten&#8221; since 1912. Over 170 actors &#8211; from the leading actors to the extras, all non-professionals &#8211; make up the large &#8220;Tellspiel family&#8221;. Horses, cows and goats also help to make the open-air theater an impressive experience time and time again. Thanks to a covered grandstand with seating for around 2,200 spectators, the matches can be played every year from June to September (Thursday and Saturday) whatever the weather.
